Wardrobe Change?

Tonight I Put on a shirt that I have not wore since the beginning of my weight loss journey, Well.. OK sorry I have wore it a few times but not too much.. Anyway I put it on tonight because I simply need to do laundry & my normal "GYM" Clothes (tho they tend to be my everyday clothes at this point) needed to be washed... So back to this shirt..OMG.. I'm floating in it a shirt that once fitted me WELL.Pretty well all my clothing is doing this at this point.. Jeans are baggy as HECK.. Shirts no longer stay on my shoulders constantly falling off,Bra's cups are becoming empty.. Oh the list goes on.

However I hate spending money on clothing that are not going to last me very long, I bought a shirt back in November.. This shirt is pretty well falling off me as well, Arg I'm so stubborn.. But with the wedding coming up buying new clothing just really isn't in our budget we have to many things going on that we need to get done..But I just Can't believe how bad its getting.. Not sure if "Bad" is the correct term It makes me feel great but makes me feel so bad at the same time, Bad because wearing clothing that looks So "Scummy" makes me feel so "Gross"

This specific shirt.. that I wore tonight.. Is a Short Sleeve t-shirt..Well, I'v lost so much weight that the Sleeve's of the shirt goes to my WRIST!! yes My freaking WRIST.. I was almost embarrassed to even wear it to the gym, But it was that or not go and that simply wasn't an option!

So my Question to those who have lost a lot of weight or is in the process of weight loss how are you going about clothing? are you buying new ones as you go? Sticking to a few outfits at at time? Ruffing it out as long as you possibly can like I'am?

Anyone who is in plus size clothing know how dam expensive it is to buy clothing so going out and purchasing new wardrobes constantly isn't an option, but I need to do something soon.. It's pretty bad when my shirts are pulling "Houdini" on me.. One minute  it's on next things you know I'm fumbling to get my shirt back on (Seriously it's happened and it was the most embarrassing situation ever!!!

<3 Lots of love
Monica

  1. Awesome job on your progress so far...you are such an inspiration..
Why not invest in some belts...??They could help with keeping up your pants and if you wear them around your waist your shirts will look less baggy. If your looking to save $$ head to your local discount shop or goodwill (charity) shop..You can always find a great deal there...

  2. Wow awesome job, that is pretty incredible. I've read a lot about people setting goal weights and buying themselves one new outfit (top and bottom) at that point, but even then that could get expensive. You could always ask friends and family if they have anything extra or stop at a second hand store. Lastly, I think on Mt. Flab Support you said you were in Dieppe? I'll be in Gagetown all summer and we have some extra plus size clothes lying around the house right now since my mom just began her own weight loss journey. If you still need them then, give me a shout. xx

  3. Yay. That's brill. If you can't afford a dose of retail therapy, are you a dab hand with a needle and thread? You could take loads of old tops and dresses in and that will save you some cash.

  4. Thrift Stores & Consignment Shops! I absolutely love thrift store shopping. Often times, you'll even find new clothes with tags still attached. It's silly to shop at the mall or department store when the new clothes you buy will be too big in just a matter of weeks. I'm not sure what options are available in Canada as far as thrift stores, but I would definitely look into it if I were you. You can find some amazing clothes at affordable prices. And when you're done, simply donate them =)

  5. What I did through my losing phase was I bought the $12 jeans from Walmart - Faded Glory brand, bought the cheap tshirts or shirts from Walmart too $3-5 bucks a shirt. I checked out Thrift Stores. I would only buy like 2-3 pairs of jeans in one size because it seemed like the next month or two I would drop another size. Shirts I could stay in a little longer but would only buy maybe 5-7 in one size at a time.

    1. That's a good Idea,Clothing at Walmart never fit me well when i was heavier, but being a little over then 50lbs loss they might fit better now :) Will have to check Walmart out.. at least clothing there is reasonable.

  6. Clothing is such a huge issue for me. I really don't have any non lounge or athletic type clothes that fit. I get by with dressing up leggings with boots and wearing the same top over and over again. But its getting bad. No jeans any more. They all fall right off. And, even my leggings are loose! I know I should be glad about this, and I am, but I don't have money to buy 5 wardrobes along the way.. Hopefully with our tax return we can spare some money and I can get some basic stuff in the meantime, but it drives me crazy buying clothes that aren't going to fit in a few months or less.

btw, this is Desiree at http://losingweightgainingstrength.wordpress.com/ I'm having issues commenting in my wordpress profile :(

  8. AWESOME MONICA! But I totally udnerstand where you're at. My clothes are falling off me...and I literally bought new pants 6 weeks ago. It feels good but I don't want to buy new clothes every time I drop a size or am between sizes! I go to the Goodwill and I found some pretty good bargains! That and some people have suggested e-bay which...I haven't personally tried but who knows!!

  9. Great work! It's wonderful seeing the progress you can make. Why don't you try selling your old clothes? You could try ebay, yard sales or second hand clothing stores. It would give you some extra cash to spend on new clothes.

  12. woohoo how awesome that your clothes are literally falling off of you!
but i can so relate to the cost of clothes & not wanting to spend a fortune.
i am not sure if they have tjmaxx or marshalls in your neck of the woods -- but you can get really nice namebrand clothing for CHEAP! and their clearance racks are too die for.

    anywho...
love your blog & found ya via maren's fb group!

  13. Just starting following your blog and sounds like you're doing an amazing job!

    Congrats on the clothes!! =)

As for me, I try to wear my current clothes as long as possible, but once my boyfriend starts to comment on how they look funny cause they're too big, then I buy new clothes. Second hand stores are a life (and money) saver as you transition to your new body since you'll only be wearing the clothes temporarily.

Good luck and can't wait to follow your progress from here!
